Beyond the Arc - Supporting Alachua County Schools Florida Credit Union is excited to kick off the fourth annual Beyond the Arc campaign! Throughout the 2024-2025 season, FCU will donate $25 to The Education Foundation of Alachua County for every three-point basket scored by the Gators’ men’s and women’s basketball teams, up to $10,000. Funds raised help support essential programs that prepare students for success. Here are some key events to watch for: • December 21 – Holiday Hoops Game vs. North Florida. The first 2,000 fans get an Albert Snow Globe, and $5 of each $15 ticket supports The Education Foundation. Get your tickets now! • January 30, 2025 – Teacher Appreciation Night at the UF Women’s game vs. Vanderbilt. Teachers are invited to join a halftime line dance, with 50 complimentary tickets donated by FCU. • March 1, 2025 - Fan Free Throw Challenge at the men’s game vs. Texas A&M, featuring a fun showdown between a student and 1996 Heisman winner Danny Wuerffel. Since starting the campaign, Beyond the Arc has raised over $30,000 to benefit students.

Paws Up for Our Pet of the Game Winners! This season, our Pet of the Game contest has showcased some of the most adorable and spirited pets in the FCU community. Congratulations to our 2024 Pet of the Game winners: Bullet, Mooch, Lucky, Lola, Shelby, Tenders, Chewie, Frankie, Oscar, and Scout. Each of these pets has earned a spot in the final round of voting to become our Pet of the Year! The Pet of the Year will receive an incredible grand prize, featuring a $250 gift card to Pet Paradise, a $250 gift card to the UF Bookstore, and a $250 gift card from Florida Credit Union. Thanks to each entry, FCU has been able to donate $10 per submission to the Humane Society of North Central Florida up to $5,000, with matching donations from Gainesville GEICO Agent Ken Castellani. Stay tuned for next month’s issue of The Wave, where we’ll reveal the Pet of the Year and celebrate this season’s furry fan favorite!
