Florida Credit Union broke ground for its new corporate headquarters located on SW 41st Street in Gainesville on April 4th. Attendees of the groundbreaking ceremony included members of the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, FCU’s board of directors and employees, along with representatives from WCJB TV20, Mainstreet Daily News, and KISS 105. The groundbreaking focused on FCU’s need for growth in order to continue to serve members. Guest speakers included FCU President/CEO Mark Starr and Ian Fletcher, chief operating officer of the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce. “As we lay the foundation for our new headquarters, we are also celebrating a significant milestone in our history – our 70th anniversary,” Mark Starr said during the groundbreaking. “Over the past seven decades, Florida Credit Union has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving our members and the communities we call home. As we look to the future, I am excited and optimistic. Together, we will continue to innovate, adapt, and thrive in an ever-changing landscape. We are not just building a headquarters; we are creating a space that will inspire our team and elevate the member experience.” Scherer Construction and Walker Architects partnered with FCU on this project. The 90,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility is expected to be completed by mid-2025.

Florida Credit Union was included in the list of the top 100 credit unions by S&P Global Market Intelligence. Credit Unions were ranked based on five metrics: member growth, shares, deposits per member, net worth, delinquent loans, and return on average assets. 1,801 credit unions qualified for the ranking.

Every year, FCU awards scholarships to students based on their scholastic record, future potential, leadership, initiative, character, dependability, integrity, and financial needs. The 2024 scholarship winners will be announced soon!

FCU’s 43rd Street branch just celebrated 4 decades of business and impact in the Gainesville community. In celebrating this significant milestone, we partnered with Florida Victorious to have UF baseball player, Tyler Shelnut, make a guest appearance to sign baseballs and interact with members. The celebration also included games, prizes, giveaways, and refreshments from David’s BBQ. The 40th anniversary of our branch is not just a celebration of time but also a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unwavering support from everyone involved. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for letting us be a part of yours. We’re excited and thankful for the opportunity to continue to serve the Gainesville community for years to come!

Mardi Gras Dog Parade It was im“paw”ssible for Florida Credit Union’s DeLand branch to have a more elaborate booth at the annual dog parade, put on by the Krewe of Amalee. Parade proceeds raised benefitted local charities!
